Claude Skills for Healthcare Professionals

Ready-to-install Claude Skills for healthcare professionals: what each does, how it was tested and how to install it.

The Patient-Friendly Visit Summary + Red-Flag Check turns a clinician’s visit note into a plain-language patient summary and a separate, clinician-only check of gaps, contradictions, and unaddressed concerns. A clinician or nurse pastes a de-identified visit note; the skill drafts both pieces for review before anything reaches the patient. Each output is a draft that the responsible clinician checks.

For related workflows, see the Healthcare professionals hub and our prompt library for healthcare professionals.

To install in Claude Code, download the ZIP, unpack it into ~/.claude/skills/ (or .claude/skills/ inside your project), and restart Claude Code. The skill loads when your request matches its description. Without a terminal, open a Claude Project, go to Project instructions, paste the SKILL.md text, and save. Every chat in that project follows those instructions.

The models listed on the page were tested on these dates: Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5 on 2026-10-19, and Claude Fable 5.1 on 2026-10-20. Each listed model ran the skill 3 times on a fictional input written with its rubric before the skill existed. A model from another family, gpt-6-astra, graded every run. See the methodology for the testing approach.

This page takes US practice first. Under HIPAA, a cloud or AI service that creates, receives, or maintains ePHI for a covered entity is a business associate and needs a business associate agreement (BAA), according to HHS guidance on cloud computing. The clinician signs the summary; it is not medical advice from the tool.
