Site Observation Report Draft
Turns field notes from a visual walk-through into a structured observation report: exact observation table, limitations, hedged recommendations, DRAFT for the engineer of record.
Ready-to-install Claude Skills for engineers: what each does, how it was tested and how to install it.
The Site Observation Report Draft skill is for field engineers turning notes from a visual walk-through into a report. You paste your site notes, including locations, sizes, and photo numbers. The skill produces a structured observation report with an exact observation table, limitations, and hedged recommendations. The output is marked DRAFT for the engineer of record to check before signing and sealing; it is not a sealed report.
For Claude Code, download the ZIP, unpack it into ~/.claude/skills/ (or .claude/skills/ inside your project), and restart Claude Code. The skill loads when your request matches its description. If you don’t use a terminal, open a Claude Project, go to Project instructions, paste the SKILL.md text, and save. Every chat in that project follows those instructions.
The listed models were tested on these dates: Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5 on 2026-10-19, and Claude Fable 5.1 on 2026-10-20. Each model ran the skill three times on a fictional input written with its rubric before the skill existed. A model from another family, gpt-6-astra, graded every run. See the methodology for the testing setup.
For US practice, our country research found no verified official AI-specific source for engineers. Each state PE board sets the rules for sealing, signing, and responsible charge. The engineer of record remains responsible for the report’s content; the generated draft does not change that responsibility.
The skills are free to use, adapt, and share, including commercially, under CC BY 4.0 with attribution.
